Originally from West Des Moines, Iowa, Jody moved to Wilmington in 1996 to attend UNCW where she got her degree in marine biology. Jody worked in that field for about 7 years including interning at EPCOT at the Living Seas Aquarium as well as at UNCW's Center for Marine Science conducting harmful algal bloom reasearch. Jody remained active by running marathons, as a triathlete as well as attending her favorite class at the gym - Interval. After the birth of her son, Roman, in May 2007 Jody began to look for a way to be able to stay home with him. She saw Lisa Druxman, founder of Stroller Strides, on the Today Show when Roman was only a few weeks old and she immediately began figuring out a way to offer this wonderful program to the moms and children of Wilmington. Jody is a certified Stroller Strides instructor as well as infant, child and adult CPR certified. She has found more pleasure in being a mom than she ever dreamed and even more reward from seeing the moms of Stroller Strides make strides in fitness, motherhood and life!

Leah McCall, Instructor
Leah grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia and moved to Wilmington in 2005 to teach Health, Wellness, and Fitness at UNCW. Her love for the outdoors and fitness have always been a big part of her life and she truly enjoys teaching others and helping them to become healthier people, inside and out. She has taught rock climbing, white water canoeing, and sea kayaking to kids as young as 5! She loves playing on the beach with her daughter Adley, sea kayaking (she can’t wait to take her daughter with her), and going to Stroller Strides! After her daughter was born in July 2008, she wanted to find a way to meet other moms, stay active outside and offer her daughter a fun and positive environment. After her first class she was hooked and soon became a certified Stroller Strides Instructor! Leah is also certified in infant, child, and adult CPR. Leah brings her passions for health, wellness and fun to every Stroller Strides class.


Amy Rodriguez (aka A-Rod), Instructor
Originally from Northern New Jersey, Amy moved to Eastern Carolina in 2005 with her husband, Eric. As a registered nurse for over 7 years, Amy loves her work on the inpatient pediatric unit. Amy is certified in Adult, Pediatric, and Infant Basic Life Saving (CPR) as well as Pediatric Advanced Life Saving (PALS) - a very challenging, but very rewarding and FUN, career! She also enjoys keeping active, running, playing on the beach with her son, shooting some hoops, or playing Wii Sports! After giving birth to her son in the spring of 2008, Amy found her long shift work challenging with an infant. She wanted to find a way to provide both her and her son a positive atmosphere to thrive in. Stroller Strides became a great way to get in shape, meet new people, and still be part of the 'working world'. As a certified Stroller Strides Instructor, Amy uses her knowledge, compassion and enthusiasm learned in her nursing career to encourage and empower the Stroller Strides moms and children.

Ulrica Stinson, Instructor
Ulrica grew up in Wisconsin but has lived in Wilmington for 18 years. As a marathon runner, certified yoga teacher, and certified Stroller Strides instructor, fitness has always been a priority in her life. Ulrica also has a passion for women’s health. Before having two children she was a labor and delivery nurse. She is currently a La Leche League leader, offering support to breastfeeding mothers. She is also certified in infant, child, and adult CPR.
Her rich history of helping mothers combined with her experience in personal fitness gives Ulrica a unique perspective as a Stroller Strides instructor. Ulrica believes that Stroller Strides empowers families through personal wellness. This is the message she strives to convey to her two beautiful children who are with her every step of the way.
