MOMMIES WITH A MISSION WINTER PROJECT - Wednesday, January 14th at 9:00am Luna Moms and Stroller Strides have paired up to host a post-holiday canned food drive to restock the food bank at House of Hope. Stroller Strides trainer, Lisa Holland will be coaching a special full body work out at Indian Riverside Park on Wednesday the 14th using cans of food as weights! The cost to participate in this fun and creative workout is just two cans of food! Please invite your friends to join us in making the food drive a success

2009 HEALTHY MOM CHALLENGE
January is a time for fresh starts and goal setting. In order to help you achieve your fitness and lifestyle goals for the New Year; Stroller Strides will be hosting a Healthy Mom Challenge sponsored by Fleet Feet of Stuart and the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department. This event will be a 6 week program to a healthier and happier YOU!!!!
Introducing the 2009 Healthy Mom Challenge, a fun program that will help you meet your goals of making healthy lifestyle changes. The program will begin on January 26th, 2009 and run for six weeks ending on March 6th, 2009. The cost for non-stroller strides members is $75 and includes two stroller strides classes per week for the six week session. Each Mom will receive a running/walking log book, pedometer and Fleet Feet technical shirt.
This program will encourage participants to make strides in three areas: fitness, personal "Mom only" time and healthy eating. Moms will participate in a two mile run during the last week of the challenge. They will take 15 minutes daily to focus on themselves by reading a book, taking a bath, or just relaxing. Lastly, you will be challenged to make healthy choices with regards to improving your eating habits.
STROLLER STRIDES CLASSES:
Come and see what all the excitement is about. YOUR FIRST CLASS IS FREE. Remember to arrive by 8:45 to fill out the necessary paperwork. Bring lots of water for you and your baby, sunscreen and a mat, or towel for ab work and stretching. Stroller Strides, a one hour total body workout designed specifically for moms with stroller age children (6 weeks - 4 years), offers classes that combine power walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing (we provide the tubing) AND your stroller. All strollers, except umbrella strollers will work fine. This is not just a stroll in the park but a workout that gets you striding into your best shape while spending time with your child and other moms.
Babies are Stroller Strides' priority, so don't worry if yours is fussy! Classes are taught by nationally certified instructors who are moms-- just like you--and structure the class so that moms can make baby happy and not miss out on the work out.
Whatever your fitness level, Stroller Strides will give you the work out you need. You create the intensity and Stroller Strides creates the fun for you and your baby.
Stroller Strides is more than a fitness class. An important part of the Stroller Strides program includes playgroups and other social activities for you, your baby, and your family, which is a great way for you and your child to make new friends!
